Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for many reasons...

we take pictures with the turkey...

...cook together as a family...

...cut the turkey (it truly is a family affair!)...

...then we taste-test to "make sure the turkey tastes okay"...

...we look at the Black Friday ads together...

...we get excited for, are thankful for, and enjoy a tasty meal as a family...

...we start new traditions...
(This year in the evening on Thanksgiving we went to Santa's Magical Kingdom in Eureka to see the Christmas lights.  Nathan enjoyed them so much!  I bought a Groupon that included admission to the park and a picture package of the kids with Santa.  Nathan asked Santa for a "Big Bulldozer!")

...and we get excited about the little things, even sitting in rocking chairs!
This Thanksgiving was very special.  We have so much to be thankful for this year:  two healthy boys, four healthy parents, a house that stays warm in the winter and cool in summer, food in our kitchen, two cars that take us to our jobs that we truly enjoy going to each day and that allow us to provide for our family, babysitters who LOVE, care for, and nurture our children, graduate and post-graduate degrees that have allowed us to challenge ourselves, friends, and much more.  We accomplished more in one year than I ever thought possible and I am Thankful for every bit of it!
