Firsts

Nathan has had a lot of "firsts" since the last time I posted.

May 27th

• While we sat on the couch, I moved my hands back and forth (kind of like "spirit fingers") next to my face and Nathan laughed hysterically for about 5 minutes, so did we! It was SO cute!

May 29th

• The Muellers came over for dinner and Crystal and I took lots of pictures of the boy together.

• Nathan also got his 6 month pictures taken, which turned out SO cute by the way.

• Nathan also stood up by himself while holding onto the coffee table. Joe obviously helped him grab on, but he stood holding onto the table for about 30 seconds without any help!

May 30th

• Nathan went with me to a baby shower for a girl at work, Katie. It was the first time he has ever been to one and he was so great. Everyone was so impressed with how great he is!

May 31st

• Nathan went with Joe and me to a graduation party for a boy I had first semester this year. He has an appointment to the Air Force Academy, so it was kind of a special graduation party for Joe and me to go to.
  
• Nathan and I met my mom, Aunt Norma, Cousins Adrienne and Mallory, Gabe and Ben, and Cousin-in-law Leigh at my parents' chalet at Innsbrook for our "First Annual Almost All Girls Weekend." Nathan had a lot of fun with his third cousins Gabe and Ben. (They watched LOTS of Baby Einstein!)

June 1st

• Nathan went swimming for the first time ever-in a lake! The lake that my parents always swim in is called Lake Kitzbuhl, so we took Nathan down to the "beach" to try out the lake. He LOVED it! He splashed in the water and squealed his way through the entire experience!

June 2nd

• Nathan went swimming in a pool for the first time. It was freezing cold, but he still enjoyed it. I think he liked the lake better though!

June 3rd

• Nathan tried to crawl forward but ended up moving backwards instead. He couldn't quite get his knees underneath him. Yesterday (June 8th) he was able to get his knees underneath him but still moved backwards instead of forward. It's so cute!

June 6th

• Nathan was up the majority of Friday night and we couldn't figure out why. I called the exchange at about 3:00 a.m. because I KNEW something had to be wrong. He is SUCH a great baby and he got up at least 3 times each of the previous 3 nights and was up about 4 hours in the night on Friday. We went to the doctor Saturday morning and found out he had his first ear infection...double ear infection. Fun times. First ear infection...check. First antibiotic (amoxicillin)...check. First ear numbing drops...check. After taking motrin, antibiotics, and ear numbing drops Nathan spent the day outside in the shade under the tree in our front yard while my parents, Joe, and me all worked on our house. He really enjoyed it-he even took his naps out there!

June 9th

• Nathan had his first lunch date at P'sghetti's with Jenn Pepper and Crystal and Bennett Mueller. We stayed at the restaurant for 2 1/2 hours. Bennett and Nathan were so great, hopefully we will be able to do it again soon!
