A couple of weeks ago one of my mom and dad's friends asked them if they wanted to go to the Botanical Gardens to see the traditional Chinese exhibit they have going on right now. At night everything is lit up and there are Chinese people walking around and selling Chinese goods. During the day the exhibits are there and they are still amazing! My mom said the Gardens asked the Chinese to set it up and originally they wanted to do a "Hello Kitty" theme. The Gardens asked them to do a more traditional theme. It took them four years (I think) to built all of the lanterns, scenes, dragons, etc. and something like four months to set it up in the Gardens. Everything was created in the parking lot and then moved into certain locations within the Gardens. We had a great time!
This dragon is made of all China...fine China! There are cups, saucers, and plates. There is not one drop of glue-they are all held together with string!
Close-up of the tail...still doesn't do it justice!
Lantern...the lotus flower?

That evening after dinner we drove up to the elementary school at the end of my neighborhood so that the kids could play. The weather has been wonderful!!
