Our tradition for the first day of school is to go out to dinner. It has been since I was little! This year, my dad was out of town, so my mom and I took the boys to Sweet Tomatoes and Joe met us there. Will got to have his first ice cream cone and to say he enjoyed it is an understatement! This kid LOVES his sugar!
Nathan made a picture at church one Sunday and we put it on the fridge. (He drew a picture of his finger that he injured because it was slammed in the door. The picture was complete with a red dot where his finger was hurt.) Anyway, Will kept taking the picture off of the fridge and throwing it onto the floor. Nathan figured out a way to keep Will from being able to take it off of the fridge:
Joe's birthday was the Saturday after school started. He shares a birthday with our friends Meg and Bill's son, Noah, so we had a birthday party to go to that day. They were really nice and bought him a Reese's peanut butter cup cupcake from Jilly's Cupcake Bar. We brought it home and sang to Daddoe. It was a fun evening!| Will got his own cupcake! |
| Getting ready to open presents. Both boys now want to open our gifts. Birthdays and Christmas are going to be interesting this year! |
In June I got a call from the Group Sales guy from the St. Louis Rams. He also happens to be a Baylor Alumni and he asked him if I wanted to help him set-up a Baylor Alumni Day at the Edward Jones Dome for the Rams home-opener against RGIII and the Redskins. I met with him at the end of June and worked with him all summer to get everything planned. At the beginning of August he invited us, as well as the other group leaders for other events at The Dome, to watch the Rams practice. It was a great experience and we even got to hang out in the owner's box (room). Jason Smith, a Baylor alumnus, played for the Rams so we were hoping to get an autograph, but he didn't come over. Two weeks later, the Rams traded him to the Jets and we ended up getting Terrance Ganaway from the Jets! Terrance Ganaway was the running back who played with RGIII last year at Baylor, so we were excited the Rams go another Baylor alumnus!
