A Visitor from Costa Rica

When I was in high school I took part in an exchange program with a school in Costa Rica. The Costa Ricans came to St. Louis for 3 weeks in December (which is actually their summer break) and then we went to Costa Rica in June for 3 weeks. Luis Carlos was a friend of a bunch of the kids from Costa Rica that came to St. Louis. I got to know him really well while in Costa Rica because he was great friends with my "sister" from the program. Now Luis Carlos is leading the exchange with the high school that he teaches at. He is here right now with the exchange and emailed me after he found out that I live in St. Louis. We got together on Saturday night and went to dinner. I was excited for Joe to meet one of my friends from Costa Rica because it was such a great experience for me. After dinner we came back to our house and watched Kicking and Screaming. It was a really fun night.

Nathan loved Luis Carlos. He spent most of the time staring at his hair. It was so funny!

Then today I went to lunch with Luis Carlos and a girl from high school, Laura, that also went to Costa Rica with me. It was a lot of fun! Laura and I have known each other since kindergarten but pretty much lost touch after high school, so it was good to catch up with her, too. After lunch, I took Luis Carlos shopping at T.J. Maxx, Kohls, and Deals (he wanted to know what a dollar store was like). Nathan went shopping with us and was great, as always. He slept through lunch and most of shopping. I was nervous because I didn't know if I would find a place to feed him, but I took 1 bottle of milk with me and only had to actually stop to feed him once, and I did that while Luis Carlos shopped! I am getting more confident about taking Nathan out by myself, so I really think today was good for me.
