Happy 6 Months Will!

Will has been busy this month!  Here is what he has been up to:
  • He met Grandpa Keillor for the first time when he and Nana came to visit us in St. Louis before our trip to Chicago for Daddoe's graduation.
  • He went to Chicago for Joe's graduation from University of Chicago with his LLM.
  • Met Laura and Canon Adams when they came to visit us.  While they were here we went to the zoo, Magic House, Suson Park, and The Mills mall.
  • He got his first tooth (right, bottom incisor) on June 14th.
  • He rolled over from his back to stomach many times on June 15th!
  • He sat in the high chair for the first time.
  • He tried rice cereal.
  • He went to Pittsburg, KS for his first wedding!  My cousin Allie got married to her college sweetheart.  It was so much fun to meet family!  He met Aunt Vickie, cousins Amanda, Aimee, Grace, Mark, and Allison, Uncle Don, and Aunt Lynn.
  • He helped Daddoe and Bapa celebrate Father's Day.  We went to lunch with Daddoe and then in the evening we went to Ted Drewes with Bapa and Daddoe (Mimi, too).
  • We had playdates with the Krenn and Mueller families.
  • He started wearing size 3 diapers.
  • He started wearing 9 month clothes and is very close to moving into 12 month clothes-what?!
  • He had a playdate of his own instead of tagging along on Nathan's!  We had a playdate with Lafayette mommies and their babies.  They have been getting together for a little while and we were finally able to go!  Hopefully we can continue the playdates so that someday they can actually play together.  For now it is nice to take him only and get some time to talk to other adults!!
  • He went to Innsbrook for the 4th of July with Mimi, Bapa, Mommy, Daddoe, and Nathan.  We stay two days!  He went swimming in the pool and saw his first fireworks show!
  • He went to see his first movie in the movie theater-Cars 2!  He did great! (July 5th)
  • We went swimming at the neighborhood pool as a family for the first time.
  • We went to the zoo with the Perdues.
  •  He showed us how he truly is easy going!  He will sit on the floor and play with/chew on his toys for long periods of time while I'm playing with/potty training, feeding his brother.  He smiles and laughs TONS-all you have to do is just look at him and smile.
  • He is sitting unassisted for long periods of time.  He is doing this about a month before his brother did!
Other interesting things we found out about him at 6 months:
  • He hates his carseat.
  • HE LOVES to eat (no surprise here-have you seen those cheeks and thighs-oh how I love them!).  While I am feeding him, he grabs the spoon and pulls it to his mouth.
  • He is not a very good napper, but he is a great sleeper at night.  He takes a morning nap pretty consistently at 10:30.  After that it is hit or miss.  Sometimes he will take a 3 hour afternoon nap, but usually he takes 3-1 hour naps a day.  It kind of makes it difficult to get anything done while his big brother is sleeping!  He go to bed anywhere between 8:45 and 10:00 p.m.  He wakes up anywhere between 8 and 9.  Today he woke up at 8, cooed in his crib for about 20 minutes and then fell asleep again until 9 when I went in and woke him up.
  • He is starting to mimic things we do.  Over the 4th of July weekend, my dad moved his head from side-to-side and smiled really big at Will.  He now does it whenever he is near someone and gets excited.
6th month stats:
26.75", 20 lbs. 2 oz., head circumference 17"  (appointment was on his 6th month birthday)

Nathan's 6th month stats:
27.5", 18 lbs. 9 oz., head circumference 17.5"  (appointment was at 6 1/2 months)
