I read the blog of a former middle school teacher and she is always posting creative activities that she does with her kids. Since she lives in Kansas out in the country, some of the stuff is a little difficult to do since I don't have loads of dirt in my backyard, lots of grain available at my fingertips, and I'm not a stay-at-home mom. However, I read her blog the other day and saw that she gave her kids baking soda and colored vinegar to play with. I figured Nathan would love it, so we gave it a try and he did! She has another one with cotton balls, flour, and water...that might be next!
